Who is behind Branché?
Branché is an independent project, started by a student in Belgium. The idea came while looking for a used electric car: fifteen tabs open to understand the difference between two versions of the same car, and still no clear answer.
The goal is simple: bring together on one page what you need to know before buying, with figures that apply to Belgium. The site is available in French and English, Dutch is coming soon.
Scores can't be bought. No brand, garage or listings site can pay to appear on a report or to get a better score.
To stay free, the site may show advertising and affiliate links. If you buy through one of these links, Branché may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. These links are always labelled as such.
Our method
Every report starts from public sources. When information is missing, we say so rather than guess.
The real range, not the official figure. We give the year-round average, summer, winter, and the motorway in freezing weather.
A score out of 5. We start from official recalls on the battery and motor, then take into account the faults reported by owners. A software bug counts less than a faulty part.
The manufacturer's battery warranty in Belgium, and how much of it is left on the car in your listing.
The price compared with the market: hundreds of used listings of the same version, by age and mileage.
The details of the calculation are explained on every report, under "How do we calculate these figures?".
Our sources
- Range: EV Database, which measures real consumption by season and type of road.
- Recalls: European authorities (Safety Gate, KBA in Germany), the US NHTSA and manufacturer announcements.
- Faults: the What Car? 2026 reliability survey (owners in the United Kingdom), the German roadworthiness test (TÜV-Report 2026) and ADAC breakdown data (Germany).
- Warranties: the terms published by manufacturers for Belgium, or for Europe when the Belgian page doesn't detail them.
- Prices: used listings on AutoScout24 in Belgium and the Netherlands, where prices are practically the same.
The data was checked in October 2026 and will be updated regularly.
What Branché doesn't replace
A report gives an overview of a model. It doesn't replace the Car-Pass, a battery test, checking the recalls with the VIN at a dealer of the brand, or a test drive.
